Engineering Manager (Simulation)

Location: Hybrid position based in Stockholm or Gothenburg, Sweden

What you will do

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team focused on simulation infrastructure and platform engineering.
• Architect, scale, and operate closed-loop simulation platforms and pipelines for scenario authoring, high-fidelity sensor models, SIL, and HIL testing.
• Set the technical direction for the simulation stack, evaluating commercial, open-source, and in-house components and making build-versus-partner decisions.
• Develop tooling and data flows connecting virtual testing with real-world vehicle testing for comparison, correlation, and traceability.
• Lead the organization’s transition toward simulation-driven development and collaborate with Perception, Motion Planning & Control, Systems Engineering, and V&V leadership.

Requirements

• Track record of building and leading teams delivering platform or infrastructure products in autonomous driving, robotics, or complex safety-critical domains.
• Strong understanding of closed-loop simulation for development and validation, including scenario-, object-, and sensor-level fidelity trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale simulation infrastructure, including cloud or on-premises orchestration, CI/CD, data pipelines, and containerization.
• Familiarity with ML-driven simulation and evaluation, including neural reconstruction, generative world models, and real-world data replay.
• Ability to guide technical experts, prioritize internal-product roadmaps, and foster engineering excellence across organizational boundaries.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous-driving or robotics simulation platforms such as NVIDIA AlpaSim, NuRec, Cosmos, Omniverse, or comparable tools.
• Experience operating simulation at scale with GPU compute orchestration, batch and replay workloads in CI/CD, and throughput and cost optimization.
• Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, aerospace, or another safety-critical domain.
