New Grad Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or Toronto

Salary: $113,000 in San Francisco or CA$96,050 in Toronto, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and improve systems that extract and structure information from large volumes of unstructured legal and medical documents.
• Develop reliable backend services supporting document processing and AI-powered products.
• Integrate AI technologies with production systems in collaboration with engineers and data scientists.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability as the platform grows.
• Build tools and infrastructure for developing, evaluating, and operating AI-powered systems.
• Participate in design, implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration across the full project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Practical software development experience through internships, co-ops, academic projects, personal projects, or equivalent work.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and ownership skills.
• Curiosity about AI and interest in applying it to real-world problems.

Nice to have

• Experience building backend systems that process large volumes of information.
• Experience working with unstructured documents, text, or images.
• Familiarity with AI, LLMs, machine learning, or natural language processing.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, databases, APIs, testing, or system performance.
