Senior Build Engineer (3D Printing)

hirify.global develops 3D printing technology and software used to design, prototype, and manufacture physical products, including medical devices.

What you will do

• Build and ship automated quality and performance infrastructure for PreForm.
• Measure startup, upload, print generation, and crash-rate KPIs per pull request and nightly in CI, with regression alerting.
• Re-architect system tests to run headless end-to-end scenarios through the PreForm Local API and PreForm Server.
• Develop a customer-file corpus pipeline that processes real models through slicing and support generation and compares results with baselines.
• Own Sentry triage, crash trending, root-cause attribution, and crash-reproduction harnesses.
• Maintain print-regression baselines, CI flake management, test runtimes, and golden-file workflows.

Requirements

• Strong C++ proficiency for integration and system testing against PreForm internals, including mesh operations, print-file generation, and slicing output.
• Python experience for corpus pipelines, API-driven test drivers, result diffing, and reporting.
• Experience with Jenkins, test parallelization, flake management, and baseline or golden-file testing strategies.
• Experience using observability tools such as Sentry, Amplitude, and crash or performance dashboards.
• Mid-to-senior individual contributor experience with the ability to define test strategy independently and implement it hands-on.

Nice to have

• Desktop application testing experience, including GUI automation on Windows or macOS with Squish or Qt Test-based harnesses.
• Passion for 3D printing and emerging technologies.
• Experience in a fast-growing startup environment.
