TL;DR
Machine Learning Engineer (Computer Vision) (Physical AI/ADAS): Developing and improving vision transformer and deep learning models for 3D awareness in HD maps and autonomous driving systems with an accent on instance detection, segmentation, tracking, occupancy modelling, and multi-modal sensor fusion. Focus on building and benchmarking PyTorch models, translating research into reliable production systems, and evaluating large-scale machine learning solutions.
Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Hybrid work with two required office days per week; the remaining three days can be worked from the office or home. Additional work from the home country or abroad is available for a set number of days each year.

What you will do
- Develop and improve machine learning and vision transformer models for 3D awareness.
- Build instance detection, segmentation, tracking, and occupancy modelling capabilities.
- Develop and validate multi-modal fusion pipelines using camera, LiDAR, and RADAR data.
- Apply transformer-based and representation learning techniques within established frameworks.
- Run experiments and benchmarks, communicate results, and contribute to evaluation practices.
- Translate research into reliable, scalable production machine learning solutions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in machine learning, vision transformers, diffusion, or computer vision.
- Expertise in modern deep learning architectures and hands-on experience with PyTorch or equivalent frameworks.
- Understanding of building and deploying large-scale machine learning models.
- Strong ownership, execution focus, data-driven evaluation, and high standards for code quality and reproducibility.
- Ability to communicate technical trade-offs and navigate ambiguity in complex technical domains.
Nice to have
- Experience in autonomous systems or robotics perception.
- Publications or patents in machine learning or perception.
- Experience with 3D data representations such as meshes, point clouds, BEV, or voxel grids.
