Staff Data Scientist (Fintech)

Location: London or Barcelona offices, or distributed working within the UK with ad hoc meetings in London. Relocation to the UK or Spain is supported.

Salary: £124,400–£165,000 plus performance-based incentive awards.

What you will do

• Shape data strategy for a large business domain or data science collective.
• Lead ambiguous, strategically important problems involving customer, commercial, regulatory, and operational trade-offs.
• Partner with senior leaders across product, engineering, machine learning, design, research, risk, and operations.
• Develop measurement strategies and metric maps connecting customer behaviour, product changes, and business outcomes.
• Set best practices for experimentation, causal inference, forecasting, optimisation, and decision science.
• Build analyses, experiments, models, prototypes, and governed data products while coaching data scientists and analytics engineers.

Requirements

• Exceptional experience leading complex, business-critical data science work from ambiguous problem framing through measurable outcomes.
• Experience shaping strategy across a large product or business domain and influencing senior leaders.
• Deep expertise across several data science disciplines and the ability to set technical direction in complex or high-risk environments.
• Strong communication skills, with a high standard for analytical quality, governance, and reproducibility.
• Hands-on expertise with Python and SQL.
• Ability to work from the UK or Spain as specified for the role; visa sponsorship is available.
