Controls Specialist (FinTech)

Base salary: €2,867–€4,300 gross per month

What you will do

• Manage the end-to-end controls framework for Payments Operations, Billing, Credit Control, and other operational teams.
• Design, implement, assess, test, and regularly update operational controls.
• Manage key controls within Internal Operations and report on safeguarding and SOC1 control assessments.
• Work with Regulatory Compliance and control owners to improve the control landscape and address deficiencies and gaps.
• Support annual Safeguarding and SOC1 audits by explaining first-line controls and gathering and submitting evidence to auditors and regulators.
• Improve efficiency through the standardisation, automation, or removal of controls.

Requirements

• Experience working in a regulated environment, preferably in financial services or FinTech.
• Experience in a similar role, such as Audit, with control design, implementation, and effectiveness testing.
• Understanding of the three lines of defence and experience working with Regulatory Compliance teams and external auditors.
• Ability to explain the purpose and operation of controls clearly and balance compliance with operational efficiency.
• Strong attention to detail, a structured approach, comfort with data, and the ability to work independently.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving responsibilities.
