Research Engineer (Machine Learning)

Location: Paris, France; office work expected 4+ days per week

What you will do

• Conduct product-related research using electrophysiological and cognitive data, including hypothesis definition and experiment design.
• Review scientific literature and translate findings into product-aligned modeling approaches.
• Build signal-processing and machine-learning pipelines for noisy, real-world time-series sensor data.
• Develop algorithms for cognitive and physiological decoding using multimodal biological signals from wearable devices.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and research teams on data capture, model evaluation, and product demonstrations.
• Communicate findings, model limitations, uncertainty, and technical trade-offs to stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in machine learning, computer science, biomedical engineering, computational neuroscience, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant research or engineering experience with time-series, biometric, physiological, wearable, behavioral, or multimodal data.
• Hands-on experience with wearable biometrics products or real-world sensing platforms.
• Strong signal-processing fundamentals for noisy biosensor data.
• Proficiency in Python and scientific-computing and machine-learning tools.
• Working knowledge of multivariate time series and multimodal sensor fusion.

Nice to have

• PhD or equivalent applied research and engineering impact in biomedical engineering, computational neuroscience, or signal processing.
• Experience with electroencephalography, brain-computer interfaces, or cognitive-state estimation.
• Experience with representation learning, calibration, domain adaptation, artifact-aware modeling, or noisy labels.
• Experience deploying or optimizing machine-learning models for real-life environments.
• Experience with agentic AI workflows, skills-based automation, or AI-assisted research.
