System Development Engineer, ShipTech Analytics

hirify.global’s ShipTech Analytics organization builds analytics and business review platforms used by Operations to plan, track, and improve performance.

What you will do

• Partner with Software Engineers to design and develop scalable, highly resilient systems.
• Diagnose complex production issues across a large-scale analytics platform and perform root cause analysis.
• Develop features across multiple services and technology stacks using Java, Python, TypeScript, and AWS.
• Design monitoring and alarming for platform reliability, data freshness, and performance.
• Manage software deployments and supporting infrastructure in AWS and web technology environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and improve operational excellence through shared knowledge.

Requirements

• Professional experience in software and systems development.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals, including networking, storage, and operating systems.
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
• Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum.
• Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud technologies is preferred.
