Linux Administrator – Hardware Specialist (Linux/Hardware): Managing physical infrastructure across three data centers while administering and automating internal and hosting Linux systems with an accent on server hardware, networking, monitoring, and configuration management. Focus on racking and repairing servers, diagnosing infrastructure failures, performing upgrades, and resolving on-call incidents with Ubuntu, Ansible, SaltStack, Kubernetes, and Zabbix.
Location: Bratislava, Slovakia, with travel to data centers. Remote work is available, but the role includes recurring hands-on work with physical infrastructure.

What you will do
- Rack, cable, configure, and prepare new servers for installation.
- Diagnose and repair hardware issues, including replacing disks, RAM, power supplies, and other components.
- Maintain rack organization, cabling, server inventories, decommissioning processes, and capacity planning.
- Manage internal and hosting Linux infrastructure, including deployments, upgrades, monitoring, and automation.
- Work with Ubuntu, LXD, Nginx, ZFS, MariaDB, Postfix, Dovecot, Kubernetes, Zabbix, SaltStack, and Ansible.
- Provide on-call infrastructure support three to four times per month and resolve monitoring or colleague-reported incidents.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with server racking, cabling, component replacement, hardware diagnostics, RAID, and IPMI/KVM.
- Several years of practical Linux server administration experience, including software deployment, monitoring, and upgrades from the command line.
- Knowledge of subnetting, static IP configuration, NAT, firewalls, and general networking principles.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting using IaC, Bash/Shell, or Python.
- English at B2 level or higher and a valid driving license are required.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and readiness to participate in on-call support.
Nice to have
- Experience with Dell, Supermicro, or HPE enterprise hardware and data center equipment such as PSU, UPS, structured cabling, and fiber optics.
- CCNA training and experience configuring Cisco, Dell, Juniper, or similar enterprise switches.
- Personal projects available on Git or deployed in the cloud.
