What you will do
- Design rigorous, enquiry-based History and Geography lesson plans for Senior Phase students.
- Deliver engaging lessons supported by technology and prepare students for level examinations.
- Set ambitious learning goals, provide feedback, and use assessment data to adapt instruction.
- Observe, coach, and model effective teaching for apprentice and new teachers.
- Collaborate with Deans of Instruction, learning designers, teachers, and committees through regular meetings and professional development.
- Communicate with parents, support co-curricular activities, and fulfill assigned supervision duties, including occasional morning, evening, and weekend events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with History or Geography as a major, or a PGCE
- SACE registration
- 2–3 years of History teaching experience
- Ability to lead a classroom independently and understand the needs of the relevant age group
- Passion for enquiry-based, student-centered learning and student success
- Ability to use technology for instruction and collaborate in teams
