TL;DR
Director, Costing - Footwear (Footwear): Leading end-to-end footwear costing across Asia, from development through production handoff, with an accent on cost modeling, factory validation, negotiation, and product value optimization. Focus on benchmarking materials and manufacturing costs, managing FX and commodity risks, improving costing systems, and developing a regional costing team.

What you will do
- Lead footwear costing from product development through production handoff, including cost sheets, validation, documentation, controls, and factory submissions.
- Maintain costing methods and benchmarks for materials, components, consumption, yield, labor, manufacturing processes, and overhead across factories and product categories.
- Identify value and efficiency opportunities through material, construction, component, pattern consumption, yield, and process analysis while protecting quality and delivery.
- Lead supplier negotiations to achieve IMU and AUC targets, including tooling cost negotiation and amortization management.
- Monitor FX, commodity, trade, and labor trends; model their impact on product cost and margins and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Improve footwear costing systems and workflows with IT and PLM partners while leading, coaching, and developing the costing team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in footwear product costing, sourcing, or manufacturing, including at least 5 years leading teams or multi-factory costing programs.
- End-to-end footwear costing experience across development and production, including cost governance, factory validation, and direct cost negotiations.
- Deep knowledge of footwear materials, construction, pattern consumption, yield, production processes, labor, overhead, and cost modeling.
- Experience building country, regional, and factory benchmarks; assessing LOP by product type and factory; and negotiating tooling costs and amortization.
- Experience improving costing processes, data quality, and systems, including requirements definition with IT or PLM partners.
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills, familiarity with PROCAM or comparable tools, and clear written and spoken English.
