Freelance English-to-French Translator (Legal)

Location: Tunis, Tunisia; candidates must currently be based in Tunis and available there for most of the project. Occasional in-person attendance may be required, while meetings and consultations can be handled remotely when appropriate.

What you will do

• Translate legal content from English into French for an NGO project.
• Research legal terminology and identify key terms.
• Develop and maintain a project-specific glossary.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and terminology alignment throughout the project.
• Participate in meetings, consultations, and project-related discussions as needed.

Requirements

• Current base in Tunis, Tunisia and availability in Tunis for most of the project
• At least 2 years of professional translation experience; 2–4 years preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in legal translation.
• Excellent command of English and French.
• Strong attention to accuracy, terminology, and consistency.
• Relevant professional work samples and English-to-French legal translation samples.
