TL;DR
Windows Developer (Microsoft Fabric): Designing and delivering governed enterprise data products in an established Microsoft Fabric environment with an accent on Medallion Architecture, Microsoft Purview governance, and metadata management. Focus on reviewing the existing OneLake setup, building production-ready data pipelines and semantic models, and implementing lineage, classification, sensitivity labeling, and access controls.

Location: Sydney, Australia

Salary: AUD 180,000–200,000 per annum

What you will do

  • Review the existing Microsoft Fabric environment, OneLake structure, and operational framework during the planning phase.
  • Define technical standards, ingestion strategies, integration patterns, and scalable architecture for data products.
  • Design and implement Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medallion Architecture layers in Microsoft Fabric.
  • Deliver 1–2 production-ready data products, including data pipelines, ETL/ELT ingestion patterns, and semantic models.
  • Design and deploy Microsoft Purview governance integrated with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Implement metadata management, cataloging, lineage mapping, classification, sensitivity labeling, access policies, and data protection controls.

Requirements

  • Senior or lead-level experience designing enterprise-grade, cloud-native data architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Dataflows Gen2, Data Factory, and Direct Lake mode.
  • Strong knowledge of Medallion Architecture, Data Mesh and Data Product principles, and data modeling methodologies.
  • Experience designing and deploying Microsoft Purview for automated scanning, data cataloging, lineage mapping, and sensitivity or classification enforcement.
  • Deep knowledge of ingestion patterns, pipeline orchestration, and metadata-driven frameworks.
  • Experience delivering data solutions for New Zealand government or public-sector agencies is highly advantageous.
