TL;DR
Job Counselor (Refugee Support) (Employment Services): Delivering employability activities for vulnerable youth and refugee communities in Thessaloniki, including job counseling, service mapping, stakeholder engagement, and Job Readiness Trainings with an accent on refugee protection and socio-economic inclusion. Focus on designing training sessions, supporting individual employment pathways, coordinating project activities, and maintaining accurate program data and reporting.
Location: Thessaloniki, Greece; occasional travel to other IRC program areas in Greece. Working hours: 09:00–17:00

What you will do
- Organize needs assessments and service mapping related to employability and skills development for youth.
- Design, organize, and lead Job Readiness Trainings and information sessions.
- Provide individual employment support and job counseling to young people.
- Engage with stakeholders and coordinate activities with project partners and the wider team.
- Identify participation challenges, escalate issues to the Project Manager, and support effective project implementation.
- Maintain accurate project data and prepare regular reports for the Senior Livelihoods Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, education, project management, or a related field, or relevant certification.
- At least 2 years of experience in training, employment support, counseling, or project management, primarily related to refugee protection.
- Fluency in both Greek and English is mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, liaison, diplomatic, and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of confidentiality and respect for clients and partners, with attention to detail and punctuality.
- Computer skills, particularly Excel; experience with NGOs, youth support, and conflict resolution is beneficial.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree or additional certification in Job Counseling.
- NGO experience and experience supporting youth or refugees.
- Experience in conflict resolution.
