Sr Proposal Writer

Location: Remote within the continental United States, excluding California, New York, Alaska, and Hawaii

Base pay: $69,800–$125,900 annually, with eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the development of large, national RFP responses under strict deadlines and detailed client specifications.
• Analyze solicitations, statements of work, terms, conditions, definitions, and submission instructions.
• Partner with Sales, Account Management, Underwriting, and subject matter experts to define proposal strategy, positioning, and messaging.
• Write, edit, proofread, organize, and package customized proposals and sales-support documents.
• Manage multiple proposal projects, resolve process issues, and ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance before submission.
• Maintain proposal content libraries and templates, improve processes, and mentor junior Proposal Writers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field plus 5 years of relevant proposal management experience, or 9 years of proposal writing or management experience.
• Experience leading complex, high-profile RFPs for large national employer groups or public-sector organizations.
• Ability to independently lead customized proposal responses from start to finish while managing multiple projects.
• Strong analytical, creative, business writing, editing, organizational, project management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with PC systems and Microsoft products.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical, business, sales, account management, and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Responsive, Loopio, or Qvidian.
• Proposal writing experience in healthcare, health plans, PBM, or related industries.
• APMP certification.
• End-to-end proposal management experience coordinating cross-functional teams.
