TL;DR
Triton Compiler Engineer (Triton): Developing Triton front-end and back-end compiler components and optimization passes for efficient custom GPU kernels on Intel GPUs with an accent on compiler architecture, code generation, and kernel optimization. Focus on designing language tooling, improving supported kernels, collaborating with hardware and compiler teams, and contributing to programming language standards.

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site work.

Annual salary: CAD 133,922–189,066, depending on location and experience.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, test, debug, release, enhance, and maintain software tools for domain-specific programming languages.
  • Design and implement Triton compiler front-end and back-end components for Intel GPUs.
  • Develop optimization passes for supported GPU kernels.
  • Collaborate with hardware design teams, compiler development companies, and programming communities.
  • Participate in language and standards groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of experience; alternatively, a Master's degree with 2+ years or a PhD with 0 years of experience.
  • Programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with compiler stages, code generation, and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with GitHub development environments.
  • Familiarity with PyTorch attention techniques for transformer models.
  • Ability to work in the hybrid model associated with the Toronto, Canada location.

Nice to have

  • Experience with LLVM, MLIR, and Triton compiler architecture.
