TL;DR
Junior Project Engineer (Manufacturing): Supporting OPEX, Continuous Improvement, process optimization, and capital improvement projects for a food and beverage manufacturing operation with an accent on Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, KPI analysis, and cross-functional delivery. Focus on identifying root causes, validating process improvements, tracking project performance, and ensuring compliance with safety, food safety, and quality requirements.

Location: Onsite in Cork, Ireland

hirify.global’s Outsourced Technical Services department provides engineering and project delivery support to clients across multiple industries.

What you will do

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement projects in manufacturing operations.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities through data analysis, observations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, factory trials, process validation, and continuous improvement workshops.
  • Track KPIs, project schedules, budgets, risks, deliverables, and progress documentation.
  • Support root cause analysis and structured problem-solving using 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, and DMAIC.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, maintenance, operations, and supply chain teams to implement sustainable improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
  • 2–4 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or project environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work onsite in Cork, Ireland.
