Shelter and WaSH Officer Yemen Hodeidah (National)

Location: Hodeidah, Yemen; frequent travel and regular work in field locations outside the office required

What you will do

• Provide technical responsibility for WASH and Shelter project implementation, documentation, quality control, and monitoring.
• Plan and supervise construction or rehabilitation works delivered through contractors, cash-based approaches, and beneficiary-driven modalities.
• Conduct field visits, guide field teams, and verify evidence and sources of verification collected from the field.
• Prepare technical tools, supervision checklists, report templates, data collection tools, technical designs, and bills of quantities.
• Support procurement, tendering, technical bid evaluations, assistance tracking, accountability, monitoring and evaluation, and financial reconciliation.
• Promote safe and inclusive programming, accessibility, beneficiary safety, environmental requirements, and improved technical approaches.

Requirements

• University degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related engineering field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience designing and implementing WASH or Shelter interventions.
• At least 2 years of experience in humanitarian or recovery contexts.
• Solid technical expertise in WASH and/or Shelter, particularly hardware components.
• Experience working in complex and volatile environments.
• Very good written and verbal English; willingness and ability to travel frequently and work in field locations are required.
