Senior Innovation Engineer - Automation (m/f/d)

What you will do

• Develop innovative bioprocess automation products from initial concept through market readiness.
• Lead interdisciplinary innovation projects and transform concepts into scalable, high-performance technical solutions.
• Design and implement integrated automation systems combining software, control and regulation technology, electronics, sensors, robotics, and mechanical components.
• Evaluate and integrate future technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine vision, and modern robotics.
• Act as the technical expert and solution architect for automation within product development projects.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and external partners while supporting intellectual property development and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Technical degree in automation, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of experience developing innovative automation solutions, preferably in life sciences.
• Experience with Siemens PLCs and TIA Portal; knowledge of electrical engineering, control engineering, sensor integration, and system architecture.
• Experience leading complex development projects and working with interdisciplinary teams.
• Very good German and English skills required.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.

• Experience with Rockwell Automation.
