Software Engineer II - Athlete Performance

Location: London, United Kingdom; applicants must be within commuting distance of London. Regular in-office collaboration is required, with more days in-office than remote.

Salary: £51,000–£86,000 GBP base salary per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain high-performance mobile applications for iOS and Android.
• Develop hardware-agnostic communication interfaces for streaming live sensor and optical tracking data to cloud services and mobile clients.
• Create user-facing features that translate complex physical and biomechanical data into clear, actionable metrics.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product, Design, and Scrum disciplines.
• Write high-quality code, conduct code reviews, and solve technical problems using modern mobile and cloud development practices.
• Refine technical architecture while balancing system performance, real-time data streaming, and application responsiveness.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience developing native or cross-platform mobile applications, ideally with React Native for iOS and Android.
• Experience with API styles and communication patterns for streaming data between mobile clients and back-end systems.
• Solid core engineering skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Interest in building intuitive interfaces for complex physical or optical sensor data.
• Willingness to learn mobile frameworks, time-series data streams, and cloud architecture.
• Ability to work regularly in the London office and commute to London.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or GCP, microservices, time-series databases, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in real-time video, wearable devices, or streaming optical and sensor data.
• Experience in sports technology or performance analytics.
• Mobile build and release experience with GitHub Actions, TestFlight, Firebase App Distribution, Jest, or Detox.
