Adjunct Curriculum Consultant (Software Engineering) (Software Engineering): Reviewing, refining, designing, and validating undergraduate Software Engineering curriculum components for a three-year degree programme with an accent on industry alignment, emerging technologies, and graduate employability. Focus on conducting curriculum gap analysis, strengthening learning outcomes and assessment strategies, and supporting quality assurance, accreditation, and programme redesign across Rwanda and Mauritius.
Location: Rwanda and Mauritius (hybrid)

What you will do
- Review, refine, design, and validate learning components for the undergraduate Software Engineering programmes.
- Conduct curriculum gap analysis against international education standards, industry requirements, and emerging technology trends.
- Review programme outcomes, graduate attributes, course sequencing, competency frameworks, assessments, and practical learning activities.
- Benchmark the programme against leading international Software Engineering and Computing degrees and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with academic leadership, faculty learning designers, programme committees, and industry stakeholders during consultations and validation sessions.
- Support quality assurance, accreditation, programme documentation, implementation of approved enhancements, and progress reporting against project milestones.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, or a closely related discipline, with equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in academia, industry, or a combination of both within Software Engineering and related computing disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience designing, reviewing, developing, or revising undergraduate Computing or Software Engineering programmes or curricula.
- Strong expertise in Software Engineering principles, software development methodologies, and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience with curriculum mapping, programme reviews, learning outcomes, competency frameworks, assessment strategies, quality assurance, and project-based learning.
- Excellent communication, analytical, documentation, stakeholder engagement, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Nice to have
- PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
- Experience leading curriculum transformation, accreditation reviews, or programme modernisation initiatives.
- Experience with ACM, IEEE, ABET, CDIO, SFIA, instructional design, learning design, or digital pedagogy.
- Experience working with technology companies, professional bodies, startup ecosystems, incubators, or innovation hubs.
- A strong regional or international professional network in academia and the technology industry.
