Part-Time Arabic Linguist (AI & TTS)

What you will do

• Research Arabic phonological, morphological, and syntactic structures, focusing on Modern Standard Arabic and Saudi/Gulf dialects, especially Najdi Arabic.
• Translate linguistic requirements into actionable guidance for R&D and AI engineers.
• Review pronunciation data, grapheme-to-phoneme mappings, diacritization, and Arabic lexicons for TTS and speech recognition systems.
• Evaluate TTS output for pronunciation accuracy, prosody, dialect authenticity, and naturalness.
• Support Arabic voice-data collection, speech synthesis, recording, editing, annotation, and consultant coordination.
• Collaborate with Sestek TTS and AI Research teams throughout project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Arabic Language and Literature, Translation and Interpreting, or a related field.
• Native Arabic proficiency with strong command of Modern Standard Arabic and Saudi Arabic dialects; native or near-native Najdi proficiency is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Arabic phonology and morphology, familiarity with syntax and the International Phonetic Alphabet.
• Good command of English for communication with the R&D and AI team.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills when working with technical colleagues.
• Ability to work part-time and collaborate remotely with teams based in Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.

Nice to have

• Experience with Saudi Arabic, particularly the Najdi dialect, or other Arabic dialects.
• Familiarity with TTS, ASR, speech technologies, NLP, computational linguistics, voice-data collection, or annotation.
