Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid, with presence required 4 days per week in the San Francisco, San Jose, or Bellevue office; Tuesday is the designated work-from-home day.

Annual salary: $255,000–$340,000 in San Francisco or San Jose; $230,000–$306,000 in Bellevue.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the infrastructure-as-code execution platform using Terraform and Atlantis.
• Design and operate AWS account, access, IAM, organizational hierarchy, provisioning, and permission models.
• Own the cloud network foundation, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, DNS, hybrid connectivity, and reusable infrastructure patterns.
• Drive AWS governance through tagging standards, compliance guardrails, cost visibility, and accountability.
• Automate least-privilege access, compliance controls, and self-service provisioning for engineering teams.
• Help define the scope and operating model of a new team while participating in on-call support and maintaining reliable, observable systems.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, cloud platform, cloud security engineering, or a related discipline.
• Deep experience managing AWS at scale, including multi-account organizations, IAM, permission boundaries, SCPs, and resource organization.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, including modules, state management, and automated plan/apply workflows.
• Solid cloud networking knowledge covering VPC design, transit and hybrid connectivity, DNS, and edge/CDN configuration.
• Ability to build automation and tooling with Go and/or Python and treat internal infrastructure as a product.
• Ability to use AI tools responsibly, validate their output, clarify ownership, and operate systems beyond initial delivery.

Nice to have

• Experience building agentic workflows for infrastructure operations or governance.
• Experience implementing SOC 2 or ISO 27001 controls without creating manual operational toil.
• Cloud cost management or FinOps experience.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, GCP, or OCI alongside AWS.
