TL;DR
Associate Director, Information Security Engineer (SIEM): Managing and operating PPFA’s Splunk-based SIEM to monitor security events, investigate escalations, and protect healthcare data with an accent on threat analysis, event filtering, and security operations. Focus on configuring SIEM tooling, supporting vulnerability assessments and incident response, and improving security procedures across PPFA and its affiliates.

Location: New York, NY; hybrid workplace

What you will do

  • Configure, manage, operate, and administer the Splunk-based SIEM as a subject matter expert.
  • Provide security monitoring, threat analysis, event filtering, investigation, assignment, and Tier II escalation support in a 24/7 environment.
  • Coordinate with InfoSec, IT Operations, managed service providers, MSSP resources, affiliates, vendors, and staff on security events and logging.
  • Create and maintain security operations SOPs and recommend improvements to security processes.
  • Support vulnerability assessment setup, scanning, analysis, remediation, and incident response activities.
  • Travel occasionally as needed, estimated at 0–10%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience with SIEM, security monitoring, threat and attack countermeasures, forensic investigations, and incident response.
  • Knowledge of UNIX, AIX, Solaris, Linux, Windows Server, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, penetration testing systems, firewalls, routers, switches, VPN, VLAN, NAT, and TCP/IP networking.
  • Knowledge of security standards and frameworks including PCI, HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, ITIL, COBIT, Sarbanes-Oxley, and SANS 20.
  • Ability to make independent decisions on event analysis, escalation, assignments, and incident response remediation in changing and ambiguous situations.
