Cybersecurity Consultant II (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid opportunity for candidates in the Minneapolis, Milwaukee, or Chicago markets; office attendance is expected two days per week on Tuesday and Thursday.

Salary: $66,000–$89,000 annually, plus potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Execute security and risk consulting engagements, including security assessments, social engineering exercises, and vulnerability testing.
• Assess internal and external networks, network devices, applications, cloud configurations, and related infrastructure.
• Conduct OSINT research, phishing simulations, pretext calling, and physical penetration testing.
• Analyze test results, identify risks and capability gaps, recommend remediation, and present findings to management.
• Coordinate assigned engagement activities, document work, and monitor project scope, quality, schedules, costs, and budgets.
• Contribute to cybersecurity service development, mentor Consultant I associates, and identify potential client needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, cybersecurity, information technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
• At least one year of relevant professional-services experience or three or more years of private-industry experience in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related technical area.
• Experience or interest in social engineering exercises, including OSINT research, phishing, pretext calling, and physical penetration testing.
• Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, servers, endpoints, cloud and SaaS environments, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, and TCP/IP networking.
• Ability to work toward obtaining and maintaining relevant professional certifications.

Nice to have

• Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques such as Nessus Professional, Tenable Vulnerability Management, Nipper Studio, Burp Suite, Wireshark, or Nmap.
• CompTIA A+, Security+, or Network+ certification, or a desire to obtain relevant certifications.
• Prior consulting, advisory, training, or client-support experience.
• Experience with cybersecurity or information-technology compliance requirements and professional standards.
