Senior Software Engineer (Platform Engineering)

Location: Remote-first role for candidates residing in Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, or Ukraine. Onboarding requires travel to Vilnius, with travel costs covered. Visa sponsorship and work permit support are not provided.

Salary: €6,500–€9,000 gross per month, depending on experience, plus separate compensation for on-call participation.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate CI/CD pipelines used by engineering teams.
• Build and maintain observability and monitoring tooling for production debugging.
• Develop local development environments that reproduce production-like conditions.
• Identify and remove infrastructure friction for product engineering teams at its root.
• Debug complex issues across CI/CD, observability, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Shape the platform roadmap and participate in on-call rotations when required.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals, clean abstraction design, maintainable code, and sound architectural reasoning.
• Production experience with Go, or strong systems programming experience in a comparable language.
• Experience building and operating platform engineering systems covering CI/CD, GitOps, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, observability, and cloud platforms.
• Experience with AI coding agents and agentic development workflows.
• Experience driving a complex project end-to-end, with strong debugging, optimization, and performance-tuning skills.
• Strong spoken and written English is required.

Nice to have

• Kubernetes operators, Helm chart authoring, or admission webhooks.
• Internal developer platform design, including golden paths, self-service tooling, and service catalogs.
• Local development tooling such as devcontainers, Tilt, or Skaffold.
• Kubernetes or cloud-native open-source contributions.
