Location: Remote in South Africa, with the option to work from the Cape Town office

What you will do
- Lead, coach, hire, onboard, and grow an engineering team of around 10 people in the Templating Domain.
- Provide technical leadership across architecture, engineering practices, delivery, quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Guide architectural decisions and balance feature delivery, scalability, technical debt, and platform investments.
- Partner with Product, Design, and adjacent engineering teams to define priorities and deliver end-to-end customer experiences.
- Lead production incident management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the pragmatic adoption of AI across engineering and product development.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience as a Lead and/or Engineering Manager managing a team of 5 or more engineers, including remote team members.
- Strong software engineering background, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment, with experience guiding technical decisions on complex systems.
- Experience with modern web technologies, including TypeScript, Node.js, and Vue.js; Python is used for AI-related development.
- Hands-on technical leadership style with experience in design reviews, incident discussions, architecture, and operational challenges.
- Experience building and operating customer-facing software products with architectural and operational complexity.
- Strong communication, coaching, stakeholder management, and engineering team development skills.
