Senior Data Engineer (Big Data)

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and monitor data pipelines and architectures across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Access diverse data sources efficiently and reproducibly for business and operational use cases.
• Work with Big Data platforms, distributed processing, massively scalable databases, and distributed algorithms.
• Collaborate with data scientists on machine learning models.
• Perform performance and cost estimations for data use cases.
• Create dashboards to visualize processed data and communicate insights.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in technical roles and a passion for sustainable software development.
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Big Data, scalable databases, cloud infrastructure, and distributed algorithms.
• Knowledge of public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Fluency in German and English is required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience or strong interest in Hadoop, Apache Spark, Hive, Airflow, RDBMS, NoSQL, DevOps, Kubernetes, and Java or .NET.
