What you will do
- Deliver rigorous, real-world, enquiry-based Mathematics and Physics lessons for secondary school students.
- Design lesson plans aligned with curriculum requirements and use technology to enhance instruction.
- Set ambitious learning goals, provide feedback, and assess student progress continuously.
- Use assessment data to adapt instructional content and teaching techniques.
- Observe, coach, and model effective teaching for new teachers while participating in professional development.
- Communicate with parents, contribute to co-curricular activities, and participate in collaborative teams, supervision duties, and occasional morning, evening, or weekend events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field, ideally with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education; a Physics qualification is an advantage.
- Mathematics major, including Statistics, studied through at least the third year of university.
- At least two years of Mathematics teaching experience at senior school level, covering Grades 8–12.
- SACE registration and the ability to lead a classroom independently.
- Understanding of and passion for enquiry-based, student-centred learning, with strong knowledge of the relevant student age group.
- Ability to use technology for instruction and collaborate effectively in teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with or understanding of Cambridge or IEB curriculum objectives.
- Physics qualification.
