Senior Frontend Engineer (Webstack)

Location: Hamburg, Germany

Salary: €60,000–€70,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop and maintain high-quality, performant, and scalable frontend features for desktop, mobile web, and tablet experiences.
• Translate product and UX concepts into reliable, user-friendly features in collaboration with product managers, UX designers, and QA managers.
• Solve complex technical problems and design sustainable frontend architecture.
• Own large-scale projects from conception through deployment with limited oversight.
• Participate in code reviews and promote high-quality, maintainable code and knowledge sharing.
• Optimize frontend architecture, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, and development workflows.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of frontend development experience.
• Expert proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with deep experience in React and its ecosystem.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, modern CSS, responsive design, and frontend testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library.
• Experience with REST API integration, application state management, build tools, package managers, Git, and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong understanding of web performance optimization and accessibility.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, autonomy, ownership, and the ability to lead complex projects with limited oversight.

Nice to have

• Experience with server-side rendering and large-scale e-commerce environments.
• Knowledge of Node.js.
• Experience building or maintaining a design system or component library.
• Experience with end-to-end testing tools such as Cypress.
