What you will do

• Translate radar sensing requirements into FPGA designs for reliable drone detection in operational conditions.
• Define radar data acquisition, processing, interfaces, timing, synchronization, and delivery across RF, electronics, and software systems.
• Develop reusable RTL for waveform generation and receive processing in FMCW and pulsed radar systems.
• Implement matched filtering, pulse compression, range-Doppler processing, clutter rejection, and CFAR detection.
• Build reference models, automated testbenches, and hardware-in-the-loop validation for radar processing chains.
• Investigate hardware and field-performance gaps, improve processing designs, and document interfaces and validation results.

Requirements

• At least three years of FPGA development experience with practical radar or sonar processing exposure.
• Ability to translate signal-processing algorithms into verified RTL using VHDL or Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Strong DSP knowledge, including FFT, digital filtering, windowing, quantization, and fixed-point precision.
• Understanding of radar range and velocity estimation, clutter rejection, detection thresholds, FMCW, and pulsed radar.
• Experience with simulation, testbench development, FPGA debugging, and hardware-in-the-loop validation.
• Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Applied Physics, or a related field.
