TL;DR
Senior Accountant (Financial Reporting): Managing a diverse client portfolio and preparing high-quality financial statements, management accounts, VAT returns, and related accounting deliverables with an accent on IFRS compliance, accuracy, and client service. Focus on reviewing reconciliations and accounting work, supporting audits, coaching junior colleagues, and improving accounting processes across jurisdictions.

Location: Moka, Mauritius; hybrid work with flexible working hours

What you will do

  • Own a diverse portfolio of clients and deliver accounting and financial reporting services.
  • Prepare financial statements, management accounts, VAT returns, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Review client accounting deliverables and maintain accuracy and consistency across the portfolio.
  • Build relationships with clients and collaborate with auditors and internal stakeholders during financial statement audits.
  • Review colleagues’ accounting work and provide technical guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to budgeting, accounting projects, and improvements to processes and service delivery.

Requirements

  • ACCA, ACA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification, or equivalent relevant accounting expertise.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing client accounts, financial statements, and management accounts in accounting, audit, or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS; exposure to UK GAAP or other accounting frameworks is beneficial.
  • Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, communication, relationship-building, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience coaching colleagues and providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
