Location: On-site in Tokyo, Japan; Barcelona, Spain; or Cluj-Napoca, Romania

What you will do

  • Evaluate pre-release AI model responses in Japanese for accuracy, naturalness, appropriateness, and overall quality.
  • Fact-check model responses against source material and compare the Japanese experience with the English version.
  • Test complete user journeys on a client-supplied smartphone and next-generation smart glass across iOS and Android.
  • Identify localization and display defects, including incorrect dates, numbers, currencies, units, untranslated strings, text overflow, and rendering issues.
  • Document reproducible defects with test steps, device and operating system details, locale, build ID, and supporting evidence, then verify fixes.
  • Provide native-level feedback on navigation, usability, and Japanese language nuance, and support other linguistic projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Native-level or fully bilingual Japanese, written and spoken, with current everyday and technical language knowledge.
  • Ability to explain issues clearly in English.
  • Confidence using smartphones and laptops, including both iOS and Android devices.
  • Strong attention to detail and objective judgment when assessing quality.
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed test scripts and guidelines.
  • Availability for on-site work in one of the listed office locations; remote or work-from-home work is not available.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in software or app testing, localization QA, or linguistic evaluation.
