Senior Software Engineer, QA – Merpay (AI)

Location: Hybrid work in Minato City, Tokyo, with the office in Roppongi, Japan

What you will do

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for web, mobile, and backend services.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement AI-powered test automation, test generation, execution, and analytics solutions.
• Design and maintain API and regression tests, test environments, and defect-tracking workflows.
• Analyse test data to improve coverage and defect prediction, while reviewing and improving specifications.
• Coordinate QA activities across services and teams, collaborating with developers and microservice owners.
• Improve QA and development processes and stay current with AI testing practices.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of software QA experience and solid software testing knowledge.
• QA experience with mobile, web, or backend applications, plus strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• At least 1 year of experience with test automation frameworks and AI-driven automation.
• Knowledge of AI concepts and their application to software QA, as well as project process improvement experience.
• Business-level Japanese communication ability is required; language combinations include Japanese B1 with English B2 or Japanese B2 with English A2.
• Ability to communicate in projects and alignment with hirify.global Group’s mission and values.

Nice to have

• Software development, automated testing, test management, or people management experience.
• Experience with AI testing tools, large-scale data analysis, data visualization, or machine learning models.
• Experience building test environments and knowledge of CI/CD.
• QA experience with microservices or financial and payment services.
• Experience creating test plans from scratch.
