TL;DR
Engineering Team Lead (AI): Leading and growing a team of up to 10 engineers building web-enabled SaaS products and backend infrastructure with an accent on people management, system architecture, and AI integration. Focus on designing multicloud and multitenant systems, delivering customer-facing features, and establishing Tulip’s Tel Aviv engineering site.
Location: Tel Aviv, Israel; hybrid work with 3+ days per week in the office

What you will do
- Lead and grow a high-performing team of up to 10 software engineers through coaching, regular 1:1s, feedback, mentoring, and career development.
- Establish and grow the Tel Aviv engineering site, contributing to its technical, operational, cultural, and team-building foundations.
- Act as a player-coach by contributing to engineering work while overseeing code quality, system architecture, productivity, and delivery.
- Set quarterly team goals, own team metrics, and use data to drive improvements aligned with company objectives.
- Coordinate with engineering, product, infrastructure, operations, QA, design, and customer-facing teams across locations.
- Improve repeatable processes and build an inclusive, trusting, and well-equipped engineering community.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of SaaS software engineering experience, preferably involving complex and stable backend infrastructure.
- 2+ years of people management experience leading a software team, including hiring, mentoring, and career development.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering technical, customer-facing features.
- Strong understanding of testing and deploying systems in multicloud and multitenant environments.
- Experience integrating software components and third-party technologies.
- Experience architecting systems that integrate agentic and generative AI capabilities.
