Senior Level Designer

Location: Hybrid work in Montréal, Quebec, Canada

What you will do

• Create high-quality levels focused on innovative gameplay, accessibility, pacing, and atmosphere.
• Design level layouts, situations, design documents, 3D environments, puzzles, and scripted events.
• Integrate actors and gameplay features, balance in-game experiences, and support the development of mechanics.
• Collaborate with Level Artists, Game Designers, the Game Director, and the Lead Level Designer.
• Write level design documentation for other designers and provide support to less experienced team members.

Requirements

• University or college diploma in Game Design or equivalent training.
• More than 5 years of experience as a Level Designer in the video game industry.
• At least one published title as a Level Designer.
• Knowledge of systemic design, level architecture, 3D environments, open-world design, and puzzle design.
• Experience with industry-standard level editing tools, editors, and pipelines, including Photoshop, SketchUp, and Unreal Engine.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly present ideas.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of scripting and AI.
• Experience in puzzle level design.
• Leadership, multitasking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and contribute to continuous improvement.
