Head of Procurement (Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies aligned with project objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team while driving continuous improvement.
• Identify suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships and commercial terms.
• Oversee the procurement lifecycle from sourcing and requisitioning through purchase orders and payment processing.
• Implement spend analysis, demand forecasting, risk management, and procurement performance reporting.
• Manage HS2 approval processes for suppliers and subcontractors, including nominated and preferred suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressive procurement experience, including 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience in infrastructure or related services, procurement strategy, contract negotiation, vendor management, and supply chain optimization.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems.
• CIPS certification or an equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable.
