Embedded Systems Developer (AI)

Location: Remote; applicants must be based in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States

Salary: $40–$125+ per hour, depending on task difficulty and specialization

What you will do

• Design realistic engineering problems based on professional experience, including circuits, control loops, and power stages.
• Run engineering problems through frontier AI models and evaluate the results against professional standards.
• Compare model versions using identical prompts and determine where each performs better or falls short.
• Critique model-generated derivations, schematics, component selections, and calculations.
• Document concrete failures such as incorrect assumptions, unit errors, unphysical results, invalid topologies, fabricated datasheet values, and off-brief interpretations.

Requirements

• Fluent, native, or bilingual English
• Based in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States
• At least 2 years of industry experience in circuit or electronics engineering.
• Background in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong command of circuit analysis, design tradeoffs, and component-level and system-level decisions.
• Ability to explain why an answer is wrong and comfort using AI tools or learning them quickly.

Nice to have

• Current, in-progress, or completed Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience in analog, RF, mixed-signal circuits, electromagnetics, antennas, control systems, devices and materials, signal processing, photonics, power, or energy systems.
