Customer Solutions Design Specialist (DWDM)

Location: Daily office attendance in Bristol, Hemel Hempstead, or Oswestry, UK, with occasional travel to other locations.

What you will do

• Design and govern secure, resilient network solutions for critical defence and government services.
• Translate customer and business requirements into technical designs and delivery plans.
• Guide solutions from concept and bid support through testing, acceptance, and operational handover.
• Manage technical decisions, risks, dependencies, and change requests.
• Collaborate with customers, technology partners, sales, security, operations, and technology teams.
• Share knowledge and identify technologies that improve network performance, resilience, and security.

Requirements

• Experience designing, assessing, or evolving DWDM-based network solutions.
• Knowledge of cross-connect technologies such as SDH, PDH, and Ethernet.
• Strong practical understanding of IP networking and secure network design.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and explain complex information clearly.
• Must hold or be eligible to achieve SC-level Security Clearance.
• Daily office attendance is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with OTN, network management systems, secure operations centres, testing or laboratory environments.
• Experience in service provider or highly secure network environments.
• Knowledge of ATM, FRATM, architecture documentation, statements of work, or technology roadmaps.
