TL;DR
Field Applications Specialist - Immunohistochemistry (IHC/laboratory diagnostics): Supporting instrument implementation, workflow optimization, customer training, and technical applications for immunohistochemistry customers with an accent on laboratory performance, troubleshooting, and product adoption. Focus on leading installations and validations, resolving complex applications issues, and partnering with Sales, Service, and cross-functional technical teams across a U.S. territory.

Location: Remote from the United States, with field travel across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. The role requires up to 70% travel within the assigned territory and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Salary: $85,000–$100,000 annual base salary. Target total compensation is $100,000–$115,000 annually, including sales incentive compensation.

What you will do

  • Partner with Sales and Service to support revenue growth, customer retention, and adoption of Leica Biosystems solutions.
  • Lead instrument installations, evaluations, validations, workflow optimization, and customer onboarding.
  • Provide applications support, technical troubleshooting, and customer training.
  • Investigate and resolve applications issues with Technical Service, Product Management, Global Business Units, and other teams.
  • Identify customer needs, document field issues, and contribute to continuous improvements in products, workflows, and service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree in a related field with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of histology, immunohistochemistry, pathology, or related laboratory markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical applications issues, train customers, and optimize laboratory workflows.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% within the assigned U.S. territory.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Nice to have

  • HT or HTL certification.
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry applications, workflows, and laboratory operations.
  • Experience in Field Applications, Technical Support, Customer Training, or Laboratory Implementation.
  • Experience with laboratory automation, staining platforms, digital pathology, or diagnostic instrumentation.
