Claims Operations Specialist (Commercial Insurance)

Location: Suva, Fiji; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the local office or onsite with clients

What you will do

• Manage standard to complex commercial claims across property, marine, construction, directors and officers, professional indemnity, and other commercial lines.
• Provide technical advice and support from first notification through final settlement while protecting client interests.
• Advise clients and brokers on policy coverage, interpretation, and insurer indemnity disputes.
• Respond to queries, conduct meetings, and liaise with clients, insurers, claimants, and external providers.
• Identify claims referral opportunities and collaborate with the Advocacy team on claims issues.
• Prepare reports, present quarterly or annual reviews, and maintain industry networks.

Requirements

• At least 3–5 years of insurance claims experience, preferably in specialty commercial lines.
• Experience in a client-focused claims or insurance environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, insurers, and external representatives.
• Diploma in Financial Services or a bachelor’s degree.
• A collaborative approach with a strong focus on client service.

Nice to have

• Studying toward a Graduate Diploma in Financial Services.
• Law degree or experience in a legal environment.
• ANZIIF qualifications.
