Senior Software Engineer Datapath (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with an expectation of working an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office in Massachusetts, United States

Salary: USD 136,500–260,500 annual base salary in Massachusetts, United States; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Design and develop an optimized, high-speed software-based forwarding plane.
• Build network software for hardware appliances and virtual machines supporting Mist-managed networking and SD-WAN functions.
• Develop features for a highly scalable, distributed, AI-driven SD-WAN application and WAN Assurance cloud AIOps platform.
• Drive solutions from technology selection through product delivery in collaboration with product managers and product designers.
• Improve product efficiency, scalability, and operability.
• Participate in design and code reviews and provide technical design guidance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of experience developing software- or hardware-based datapaths.
• Experience with DPDK, VPP, or other software datapath frameworks.
• Strong C++ development and debugging skills, including multithreaded development and Linux systems.
• Experience building and shipping large-scale, reliable, highly distributed systems, with strong optimization and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with Agile development, Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and technical communication.
