Java Fullstack Software Engineer (Mobile Payment)

Location: Hybrid in Milan, Italy, with the wider team located in Zurich, Biel, and Milan.

Salary: €35,000–€48,000 gross annual salary in Italy.

What you will do

• Analyze, design, develop, implement, and operate real-time mobile payment applications.
• Build backend solutions for payment services such as Wero, Klarna, TWINT, PayPal, Alipay, and WeChat Pay.
• Develop modern microservices and improve application architecture using Kafka, Docker, Quarkus, and related tools.
• Improve continuous delivery pipelines and deployment infrastructure.
• Own applications across design, implementation, deployment, and production operations in a DevOps Scrum team.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor colleagues in architecture, engineering, and DevOps.

Requirements

• Higher education in information technology or an equivalent qualification.
• Professional experience and strong interest in Java application engineering.
• Knowledge of Java, JDK, Maven, JUnit, Mockito, WireMock, Quarkus, WildFly, JPA, Hibernate, or Panache.
• Experience with SQL or Oracle, REST/SOAP interfaces, and API security methods including mTLS, OAuth, JWS, and JWT.
• Experience with tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Docker, OpenShift, Jenkins, or Jira.
• Good English and conversational Italian are required.
