AppOps, Analyst (Java)

Location: Toronto, Canada; flexible hybrid work model. Must be eligible to work for hirify.global in Canada in a full-time capacity and willing to work rotating 24x7 shifts, including on-call coverage, holidays, and weekends.

Salary: CAD 65,000–85,000 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Provide operational support for Java/JEE applications, REST APIs, microservices, containerized applications, and cloud-native platforms.
• Monitor application health, performance, availability, and reliability using Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, CloudWatch, and related observability tools.
• Troubleshoot production issues across application, middleware, Linux, database, container, cloud, and network layers.
• Perform incident triage, impact assessment, root cause analysis, problem investigation, and service restoration.
• Support AWS, hybrid cloud, and on-premises workloads, including production releases, change management, and post-implementation validation.
• Improve operational efficiency through automation, self-healing capabilities, documentation, monitoring enhancements, and platform initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in application support, production operations, site reliability engineering, or Java-based software development.
• Strong knowledge of Java/JEE, REST APIs, Linux, SQL, Oracle, DB2, database troubleshooting, query tuning, and performance optimization.
• Experience with AWS services, containerization, cloud-native architectures, microservices, networking, CI/CD, release management, and observability tools.
• Experience with Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripting and ITIL incident, problem, change, and release management processes.
• Eligibility to work in Canada for hirify.global in a full-time capacity and availability for rotating 24x7 shifts and on-call coverage are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-availability, high-volume, or mission-critical systems.
• Exposure to SRE practices, operational automation, hybrid cloud, and enterprise production environments.
