TL;DR
EN / PL Translator (Technical Translation): Translating and interpreting English-Polish technical documentation and project correspondence for an international industrial engineering project with an accent on terminology consistency, quality control, and documentation standards. Focus on maintaining glossaries and translation memories, reviewing outsourced translations, formatting documents, and interpreting at project meetings and customer site visits.

Location: Hybrid, with 2–3 days per week at the office in Espoo, Finland. Business travel to customer site visits may be required. Start date: October 2026; assignment duration: 40 weeks (approximately 9 months).

International industrial engineering project for client Metso, delivered through a translation team and project team.

What you will do

  • Translate technical documentation and project correspondence between English and Polish.
  • Review, revise, and edit translations to ensure linguistic quality, consistency, and compliance with approved terminology.
  • Maintain project glossaries, terminology databases, and translation memories.
  • Coordinate quality control of outsourced translations and collaborate with engineers, project teams, the customer, and partners.
  • Perform document formatting and desktop publishing activities.
  • Provide consecutive interpretation in both directions during project meetings and customer site visits, including business travel.

Requirements

  • English: excellent command required.
  • Polish: native-level or near-native proficiency required.
  • Experience in technical translation within industrial or engineering projects.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional expertise.
  • Experience with computer-assisted translation tools, ideally RWS Trados Studio.
  • Strong technical terminology knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.

Nice to have

  • Experience in minerals, mining, process, energy, or other heavy-industry sectors.
  • Technical or engineering educational background.
  • Experience in project-based organizations.
  • Desktop publishing, terminology management, and translation memory experience.
