Construction Loan Administrator (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Chicago, IL, with a hybrid work arrangement; regular travel to client locations is required.

Salary: $74,200–$126,200 USD base pay annually.

What you will do

• Administer commercial and residential construction loans and work with real estate lending officers on construction risk underwriting.
• Structure and negotiate complex loan agreements and assess risks involving sponsors, architects, contractors, markets, holdbacks, and repayment.
• Define and oversee requirements for releasing funds at each construction stage and coordinate property inspections.
• Monitor client and prospect creditworthiness, prepare written analyses and presentations, and support loan committee reviews.
• Advise clients on banking products, services, legal and regulatory changes, and emerging market issues.
• Prepare client proposals, support sales presentations, and travel regularly to client locations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in commercial or residential real estate construction, draw administration, client servicing, or lending.
• Prior experience reviewing legal documentation for construction loans.
• In-depth knowledge of finance, commercial real estate, construction, lending practices, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, leadership, sales, and client relationship skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with banking, loan, and client management systems.
