TL;DR
Story Innovation Intern (Creative Play): Developing new LEGO play concepts through storytelling, character creation, world building, sketching, storyboarding, and prototyping. with an accent on translating ideas into engaging stories, worlds, and playable experiences. Focus on generating concepts, preparing them for testing, and creating visual materials for new play opportunities.

Location: Billund, Denmark; candidates must be able to live and work there from 1 September to 31 December 2026. The workplace follows a hybrid policy with an average of three days per week in the office.

Creative Play Lab is an innovation hub developing new play opportunities and experiences for hirify.global fans through experimentation, research, technology, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

What you will do

  • Generate concepts for new play experiences.
  • Develop concepts into testable and playable prototypes.
  • Create mood boards, storyboards, sketches, videos, and early models.
  • Develop characters, worlds, and holistic stories that support play concepts.
  • Research, explore, and co-create with multidisciplinary teams and children.

Requirements

  • Remain a student for the full four-month internship and graduate after 31 December 2026.
  • The internship must contribute course credit and be a compulsory part of the education program.
  • Available for the full internship period in Billund, Denmark, from 1 September to 31 December 2026.
  • Curiosity, bravery, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • Application materials must be submitted in English as four separate PDF documents.

Nice to have

  • Sketching and concept art.
  • 3D modelling, animation, or game engines.
  • hirify.global model sketch building.
  • Writing, videography, editing, visual effects, or storyboarding.

Hiring process
