TL;DR
Decision Scientist (Search Relevance) (Ecommerce/Search): Improving search retrieval and ranking for a second-hand marketplace with an accent on analytical discovery, experimentation, and buyer conversion. Focus on designing A/B tests, defining search metrics and guardrails, diagnosing ranking and retrieval issues, and building dashboards for cross-functional decision-making.
Location: Hybrid work in Kaunas or Vilnius, Lithuania; two office days per week are recommended but not enforced.
Salary: €3,433–€4,650 gross per month.

What you will do
- Partner with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Engineers to identify search improvement opportunities and provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Formulate hypotheses, define tracking requirements, and evaluate online experiments for retrieval and ranking algorithms.
- Measure causal impact on buyer conversion and engagement.
- Define and monitor search metrics and experiment guardrails, investigating anomalies and root causes.
- Build and maintain dashboards in tools such as Looker to track search health and feature performance.
- Establish success criteria and decision rules for team initiatives before launch.
Requirements
- Experience as a Decision Scientist, Data Analyst, or Data Scientist.
- Experience with A/B testing and product development.
- Knowledge of at least one statistical programming language, such as Python, R, or Scala.
- Proficiency in SQL and dashboarding tools such as Looker or Tableau.
- Degree in statistics, econometrics, economics, business, or a related field.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
