FTW Product Development Lead (Footwear)

Location: Barcelona, Spain — hybrid. The role includes approximately 20% travel to factories, trade shows, and material-sourcing activities.

What you will do

• Lead the full footwear product development cycle from tech-pack through GTM-ready samples, with accessories expanding over time.
• Review and approve proto, sealing, and pre-production samples while providing precise technical feedback.
• Validate new materials and manufacturing processes before production.
• Build supplier and factory relationships, primarily in Spain and Portugal, and conduct market and competitor research.
• Lead and develop a small product development team, establishing scalable processes and KPIs.
• Own the product development calendar and use sales, return, and product data to guide decisions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of footwear product development experience on the factory or brand side.
• Deep technical knowledge of footwear construction, materials, fit, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience leading or structuring a team while remaining hands-on.
• Experience working with suppliers and factories, ideally in Spain or Portugal.
• Experience with PLM and ERP systems, including Centric, plus strong Excel skills.
• Fluent Spanish and English are essential.

• Experience in an atelier or factory environment.
• Leather goods experience.
