Compliance Manager (Capital Markets)

What you will do

• Lead the local compliance function for the Portuguese Branch.
• Act as the primary contact for CMVM supervisory matters, regulatory enquiries, correspondence, and on-site inspections.
• Adapt group compliance policies and procedures to Portuguese legal requirements and document divergences for approval.
• Prepare periodic regulatory reports and notifications for the CMVM.
• Operate the client complaints handling framework, including Portuguese-language submissions and statutory written responses within 15 working days.
• Conduct compliance monitoring and review client-facing documents, marketing materials, and new product launches for MiFID II and Portuguese-language compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of compliance experience in an investment firm, bank, fintech, capital markets entity, or regulatory authority in Portugal.
• Knowledge of Portuguese capital markets law, Código dos Valores Mobiliários, CMVM regulations, MiFID II, MiFIR, and Delegated Regulation 2017/565.
• Experience with MiFID II compliance monitoring and regulatory reporting is strongly preferred.
• Portuguese: native or fluent
• English: professional working proficiency
